I look at this and see multiple failed states waiting to happen.

Everyone always posts it wrong but it's not meant to be a map of suggested states or future states or something, It's supposed to be a description of current america with the various cultural enclaves with generally common ancestors that migrated at roughly the same time for the same reasons.

It's not saying "these should be countries", it's saying "if you think of the US as this group of countries it's helpful" the people in the deep south did not move to the south at the same time as the people from northern parts of the thirteen colonies and didn't come from the same countries originally and did not move for the same reasons so it's trying to explain how they ended up having such a different worldview.

It's basically a map of "these ethnic groups moved here in a particular migration event"

Capital: A city designated as a legislative seat by the government or some other authority, often the city in which the government is located; otherwise the most important city within a country or a subdivision of it.

I realize it's a cultural map, but holy poo poo that is some heavy white-washing if you think central and west Texas have anything at all to do with Appalachia.

See, they're the only people in America who deserve their benefits, everyone else is just a moocher who is freeloading and taking MAH TAXES! So these cuts will only affect the millions of people who are there fraudulently, who just so happen to all be darker than them.

How can people screw this up so bad?

Huh. I figured we'd need a nuclear war to get to see NCR vs. the Legion, but we're just leapfrogging that entirely.

Basically, if the USA were to fracture, you'd have the former Confederate States, WV, MO, OK, and the southern halves of Ohio, Indiana and Illinois try to become the New Confederacy. Texas would try to take a leading role in the government and claim the capital and the internal squabble would break down because the Texans would be insufferable.. Texas would take east to Shreveport and Lake Charles and north to Tulsa/OKC and try to claim as far West, likely the Rio Grande.

That America 2050 map is way off for Texas, unless they predict that population to shrink. Dallas / Fort Worth Metro Area is already 7 million.

Texas would immediately fail as an independent state, because although in theory we send about as much to the federal government as we get back on average, in practice Texas would never tax appropriately and become a corrupt bankrupt crumbling petrostate trying to squeeze more blood from the poor to fill its massive budget hole

Thats a very nice inspiring speech to give to Dems who aren't looking to stop helping anyone in the first place. The big drat problem is that this doesn't translate into votes, and all the ambitious plans and lofty ideals in the world are meaningless without the power to execute them.

And as the last election proves, no, the people willing to stand firm on the bulwarks against the passionate advocates of evil and hate. Meanwhile, the people on the sidelines think that they just aren't being offered enough for their time in standing for what is right and true in this world.
