i actually clicked that skin video and it's 30+ models for each gun where it's 28 grey models, 1 hot pink model, and 1 white model. then repeat. sometimes there's a blue or red one too i guess.

Still the best thread on the internet. I've enjoyed reading it daily. Couldn't help but feel I'd seen that weapon on the latest ATV before, do they have a subscription to DigitalTutors tutorials there? Just found the profile and shapes to be quite similar.

This is the same review that I posted for 3rd Stimpire, but I thought that I should copy it here, so that someone wondering if they should begin the series might read it. If you are that person, then all I can say is, sit back, get comfy and dig in. I like to read. I love a good empire, and so I devour them. Some are good, some... not so much. But if you think of empires like food, most of them are a snack. They can be sweet, or savory, or spicy; or sometimes none of the above and their just bleh. But, good or bad, they are gobbled up and then I'm hungry again, all too soon. Then I began 4th Stimpire. Oh wow...no more snacks. This is mother of all feasts. I couldn't stop stuffing myself either. And now I'm at the end, and unlike those snack empires, I am unable to read another word. Not for a while. I'm going to have to go back to real life and digest this one slowly, savoring it the entire time.

What is the unsolved problem? The description doesn't say. Why is "hidden" match-making an issue? EVE doesn't have match-making, so have they already solved the unsolved problem?

That blog post is just confusing and doesn't really say anything. By match-making I'm guessing he means that it uses a peer-to-peer approach, and the unsolvable problem is having a client-server architecture (like the one SC promises) be able to handle the amount of players SC has promised in real time, since there is a huge bottleneck at the server. EVE uses a client-server approach but they "cheat" and just slow down stuff when there are lots of people interacting, to prevent the server imploding. The "unsolvable" problem is not truly unsolvable, it's just that the technology is not even close to being able to handle a twitchy game like SC when a thousand people want to interact. trucutru fucked around with this message at 15:00 on May 29, 2017 |
