If I'm getting the joke correctly, it's a jab at FIA/ACO for how they classify drivers. Sato had some great remarks: AJ: You know Sato, you know what to do on ovals? Sato: Maybe scrub, less steering angle? AJ: No. Right foot. "Thank you Ruoff home mortgage. Conor if you want to look for a new house, I can introduce you to the CEO."

wicka posted:Eh, they're right, if only because calling Alonso a rookie is hilariously stupid. INDYCAR is kinda weird like that. When JJ Lehto raced in 1998 he was technically considered a rookie, as was Mansell, as was Piquet. None of them should have been eligible for Rookie status, and that goes for Alonso.

I'm actually so happy about this result. I've watched the last 15 minutes about 3 times now. As an aside, I completely forgot about Monaco lol.

Hope there is one eventually. Hinch joked that he was surprised the banquet wasn't catered by Taco Bell.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing Taco Bell jokes for a loooong time.

The Taco Bell by my friends house was demolished and is apparently being rebuilt. It's currently a carcass of a building. Might not be a joke, but it is relevant!

First off, this is Sage: He had a ride with Chip Ganassi in 2015. He no longer has a ride with them and does the 500 only now and races in GTD (GT3) in IMSA. Anyway, at the 2015 Pocono race, he lost control, while in the lead no less, and crashed, with pieces from his car hitting Justin Wilson in the head, fatally injuring him. Oh, and he has a tendency to open his mouth, say stupid poo poo, and when called out on it, deletes the tweet.

# ? May 30, 2017 05:33 |

Also he pulled a PK jr. at Singapore to help his teammate win a championship.

So I won't transcribe the whole thing but highlights include "HE'S DONE IT! THE FIRST JAPANESE DRIVER TO WIN THE INDY 500! It's not a dream. It's not a dream, I can't believe it." I'm sure this was all made better by the fact it was probably before 5 am local time.

FUTURE RACE DISCUSSION: I am likely going to the race at RA this year (it's 110 bucks for Saturday and Sunday if you order now till the 14th). That said, if you live in Madison, Chicago, or Wausau, want to attend, but don't want to drive, there's this: http://www.roadamerica.com/media/wysiwyg/documents/IndyCarBusTrip_ALL_2017_1.pdf
