If you were wondering, Melta Torpedoes do have a balancing feature: they have zero armor penetration, so to deal fire damage they need to not only hit, but roll against the armor. This makes them good when firing at weak sides like the 25 armor stern Ork ships have, while they not as effective as regular torpedoes when hitting something like an 75 armored prow or a ship that normally has 50 armor but has Braced for Impact. That said with the damage of multiple fires they have still the potential of neutering boss-type ships.

I'm expecting a fanwar to come out of this, not unlike the Horus Hersey. Old school 'loyalists' fighting the the new 'heresy'. If nothing else it should be interesting to see it unfold.

Isn't the whole point of Space Marines to be able to get beaten by imperial forces, but defeat the enemies of humanity? Primaris Marines seem like the worst idea, especially to be brought to bare by Mr. Codex himself. Unless this results in a massive failure for the Empirium, I can't see 40k players taking this development particularly well

They're awesome true scale marine models which are cross-compatible with the current set of shoulder pads, heads and likely arms with a little conversion. I've just seen some being painted up at my local store and they are good.

Yeah, it was pretty satisfying to watch them peck the enemy to death, so like many fanatical ducks! Oh, and Herp, on a recent roadtrip I was able to tour the USS Alabama (a battleship) and saw a memorial that mde me think of you. Medal of Honor citation for Commander Howard W. Gilemore For distinguished gallantry and valor above and beyond the call of duty as Commanding Officer of the USS Growler during her Fourth War Patrol in the Southwest Pacific from 10 January to 7 February 1943. Boldly striking at the enemy in spite of continuous hostile air and antisubmarine patrols, CDR Gilmore sank one Japanese freighter and damaged another by torpedo fire, successfully evading severe depth charges following each attack. In the darkness of night on 7 February, an enemy gunboat closed range and prepared to ram the Growler. CDR Gilmore daringly maneuvered to avoid the crash and rammed the attacker instead, ripping into her port side at 11 knots and bursting wide her plates. In the terrific fire of the sinking gunboat’s heavy machineguns, CDR Gilmore calmly gave the order to clear the bridge, and refusing safety for himself, remained on deck while his men preceded him below. Struck down by the fusillade of bullets and having done his utmost against the enemy, in his final living moments, CDR Gilmore gave his last order to the officer of the deck, “Take her down.” The Growler dived; seriously damaged but under control, she was brought safely to port by her well-trained crew inspired by the courageous fighting spirit of their dead captain. This guy happen to be a relation?

As a fun aside have a comparison of Spire at the start of the game and Spire at the end: It's been a bloody good ride. Apologies to all whose ship names were not used, there are still a lot of great ones on the list that have gone unused. Unfortunately it does not seem like what I have planned next allows for custom ship names, so I'll probably keep the list around for other streams and potential future series if I'm ever stuck for a ship or character name. It's a bit late to change the title of the thread, but I'm definitely asking Baldurk to change it in the archives to "Let's Avenge Rogal Dorn in - Battlefleet Gothic Armada".
