What *is* the deal with IDW's relationship with other publishers anyway? Don't they also put out snazzy collected edition versions of notable DC/Marvel runs from time to time as well? Just seems odd/nice that there's a publisher out there who seems to get on with near enough everyone.

IDW also does Judge Dredd comics alongside 2000AD if I'm remembering right.

The Screaming Citadel was pretty neat and a good start to the crossover. I enjoyed the Yoda flashback arc in Star Wars but it was pretty depressing, this issue is a lot more fun and has some cool interactions between Luke/Aphra and the evil bots. I also thought the first arc of Aphra was pretty "meh," but seeing how it leads into this one I like it more in retrospect. I'm intrigued to see some straight up horror elements mixed into the Star Wars mythos.

Her vampire magic and look makes me think she's a surviving clone wars nightsister of some stripe.

Aphra is the greatest addition to the star wars universe since the rebooted EU.

Aphra is kinda cool, but the murder droids are starting to get old for me.

I love Aphra, and I vastly prefer her to Mara Jade.

Adorable as he is, I don't think Luke is her type.

I think Aphra is a lesbian, considering she had a relationship with Sana, and her Dad mentions her having terrible taste in women, but I guess she could be bi. I don't think I want her to be in a romantic relationship with Luke, but I do really like how they're interactions are going, and would like to see a friendship develop.

Aphra being bi would be kind of a cop out, but I'm dissapointed Luke and she can't have something. They had good chemistry in this issue and I'm enjoying this crossover so far. Also, the art is great, really works for the gothic feel of the setting.

With all the story stuff around Luke in Episode 8/9 completely up in the air I understand why they would stay away from any potential relationship stuff with him and any woman (or man, droid or Wookie). Also I don't really need a clear explanation if Aphra is bi, gay or omnisexual. She likes women, maybe also other genders/races/whatever, maybe not. If it doesn't matter for the story I rather not seen it brought up. Not everything needs a clear definition to be put up on Wookiepedia. I confess I was kind of annoyed when I heard there was going to be another crossover but so far 'The Screaming Citadel' has been great. Teaming up Luke with Aphra and Leia with the murderdroids has been ace, plus space vampire lady has a killer look.

Robot Style posted:I remember fans arguing before Episode 3 came out about whether Ben Kenobi was a Jedi Master, using dumb poo poo like that to both prove and disprove each other's arguments (Ben told Luke Anakin was a Knight, therefore Obi-Wan was a master / Vader said he left Obi-Wan as a learner, therefore Ben never got to level up from Knight). If you look at Anakin's whining about masterhood in RotS in light of the details of Ahsoka's departure, a very close equivalent to this argument is an important part of canon. Basically, the only possible basis for Anakin's demand for the title of Master, given his age and experience, is that he successfully trained a padawan to knighthood (which was originally the sole and/or primary qualification, but was later stated to be neither necessary nor sufficient, but a big part of the assessment). However, while the Council stated that they would recognize Ahsoka as a knight as part of her reinstatement in the order, she refused such reinstatement. From one point of view, Anakin trained a padawan to the point she was ready for knighthood, and her refusal of that position is on the council due to their beyond-shabby treatment of her; from another point of view, if he were a proper master, she would have acknowledged the Council's decision with humility and been a knight.

Has there been any sort of indication of how long the main Star Wars ongoing series is going to run? I need to start binding my single issues, but don't want to have completely asymmetrical books

The art in the main Star Wars title is atrocious right now. It is physically painful switching between Doctor Aphra and this.

Agreed, the panel with Harrison Ford's traced head cut and pasted onto a space vampire marine body is the most hilariously bad thing I've seen in ages. Plus he makes the Space Vampire Queen look unsettlingly like someone I work with, it's freaking me out (whereas in Doctor Aphra she looks absolutely amazing). Still, enjoying the story though.

The Screaming Citadel's Queen looks familiar, but I can't place her. Her features are obviously traces from somewhere like everyone else in the book, but I can't put my finger on it. I'd almost says it was the porn star Lexi Belle, if this was Greg Land....and I was the kind of guy that watched tat smut......
