Piscotty and Gyorko are both on 3B and Barnes tags both of them, but neither is called out. How is that possible? Shouldn't one of them be out at that point? Then Piscotty steps off the bag and is tagged again, and called out.

I had no idea. So the Red Sox runner on first attempts to take second when the pitch hits the dirt and was mishandled by the catcher. The catcher recovers the ball and the throw to 2nd is good and the sliding runner is tagged. However, it's not counted as a steal attempt. Nor, if successful, would it be counted as a steal (so say the color guys). Did not know that.
