Only half of the Fox rerun block is MacFarlane shows, it's currently King Of The Hill/American Dad/Cleveland Show/Bob's Burgers. Also American Dad is good. It's strange that rerun data isn't posted anymore, maybe cable networks didn't like that the most consistently popular cable shows were network reruns? [Edit: TVByTheNumbers still has 2 Broke Girls, Family Guy, etc. tagged on all their Cable Ratings posts even though they don't list ratings for them anymore . As far as I can tell they stopped listing rerun data February 5th, at which point Family Guy on Adult Swim was getting 1.6 million viewers with a 0.8 share, so yeah, I can see why they rerun Fox shows] asecondduck fucked around with this message at 11:26 on Jun 3, 2017 |

Revival Futurama is pretty close to MacFarlane level. Why wouldn't they, it seems like half of them have devolved into rerun depots for CSI or one of the L&O series. Like literally that's all that WE or Oxygen are anymore, and it's about half of USA's daily lineup. raditts fucked around with this message at 13:26 on Jun 3, 2017 |

It looks more authentically Star Trek than the actual new Star Trek. like, to the point I feel like McFarlane probably loves Star Trek a lot more than the new Star Trek showrunners. also I now love Adrianne Palicki because of Agents of SHIELD.

Yeah, when she showed up I did an audible squeal of glee. She seems to have a good handle on comedy, too, from what they showed of her in the trailer here. And re: Seth MacFarlane, I'm pretty sure he grew up on Star Trek and loves it a whole shitton.

Seth MacFarlene is more than capable of being funny, but his long track record of the opposite obscures that fact.

Like you can tell what seasons of what show he was more active on just in terms of quality. I think his movie career has been kind of a bust, and even then I would say Ted was average with a few good jokes, not bad.

I wish Family Guy had never come back so that when I thought about it I'd think about the first Death episode and other actually funny things instead of long sequences of people standing around making references and rape jokes.

I've said before I really enjoyed Family Guy the first season or two after it came back- there was a lot of non sequitur stuff and pop culture referencing but that in and of itself didn't bother me. It's more that after a while the "edgy" (read: racist, sexist, etc.) stuff seemed to curdle into a real meanness, in a way that's just bitter and hateful for no reason. As much as South Park gets into "PC Police!" Libertarian nonsense I can at least get a certain sincerity from them, FG is more "we're running light, let's do a joke about how Asian women can't drive."

Although you can't really blame MacFarlane for latter day Family Guy turning to crap. AFAIK his only real involvement in the show for years has just been voicing the characters. Same thing with American Dad.

Surely playing a block of classic 90's Cartoon Network shows like Dexter's Lab/Courage/Ed Edd & Eddy/Samurai Jack would get them a larger audience. They were running very early [as] stuff in a retro Sunday night block for a while recently from 8 to 9 (The Brak Show/Space Ghost Coast to Coast/Sealab 2021/something else (Birdman?)), but it looks like it's gone.

Yeah but like, can you blame him for not wanting to give a poo poo about family guy, and not wanting to undertake the gargantuan task of trying to make it good again? Continuing to do it helps him print money to make other poo poo he actually cares about.

Ted was fine, Ted 2 was a paycheck with like 3 good jokes. A Million Ways to Die in the West was poo poo, but still has the funny backstory of getting Liam Neeson to play a cowboy, plus the final death scene which was pretty funny.
