10,363 snaps and not a playoff win to show for it
After the luck Graham has had this year, today just owned. I hope he does well tomorrow because it will be the last race I will be able to watch other than going to Mid Ohio this year.

I was sitting next to a group of fans who refused to stick around for Sato's victory lap because he beat Helio.

Also can confirm. TK is beloved. Rossi is the new :911: hero.

Regarding the yakking between the announcers about right foot / left foot braking - wasn't it a minor story when the DW12 showed up that it doesn't really allow right foot braking anymore?

This very much was a thing and yes, Dario asked for a brake pedal adapter so he could still right foot brake.

Wow, why were the Penskes (minus Newgarden) so garbage? I get they were on the wrong strategy, but that doesn't get you lapped

Even when Power was running alone he was going really slow.
Other than Penske, TK was dog slow as well. I dunno man.

It is going to be warm today with scattered showers all day.

idk, this is the thread where people want more ovals.

indycars should race at Milwaukee, Indy, and maybe Pocono or Loudon. The rest should be road and street.

Do a double at Loudon, one on the oval, one on the road.

As this could be the last ABC broadcast.

My take of takes?

NBC should hire Bestwick to anchor the "500" pre-race and other important events they do. The guy has a Jim McKay quality to him.

Eddie Cheever would actually be a solid guest analyst for F1. Scott Goodyear would be better as a driver analyst on NASCAR America, Dr. Jerry Punch should go to NBC.

The new NBCSN/NBC team should be Kevin Lee, Anders Krohn and Paul Tracy.

Yesterday I had to skip out on watching the last half of the race because I finally got to go to the Petersen Automotive Museum here in L.A. If you're in the area for a race for Long Beach or Fontana you need to go. It's amazing! I gave myself three hours to check it out but I could have easily been there for five, and that's not including the 90-minute tour of their underground storage vault, which I'll definitely need to do next time I go there.

In one of their exhibit halls there was a history of Ferrari gallery with 70 years of cars, Schumi's 2006 F1 car among them. In another was a bunch of Dan Gurney's AAR cars, including his F1 winner, Trans-Am 'Cuda, several AAR Indy 500 cars and the last Champ Car Eagle. I didn't know Gurney started the champagne spraying tradition; I learned this after seeing the actual bottle he started it with.

Laguna Seca is knda being cock blocked by NIMBY'S. Though I'd much prefer it as the championship finale.

COTA is blocked by Eddie Gossage, whom we've discussed earlier in the thread.

As Fuzzy mentioned, Laguna Seca has all sorts of usage and noise restrictions, because rich rear end in a top hat NIMBYs bought cheap land and built homes near the track. The track ownership might also play a factor, and I'm pretty sure the DW12s are a bit too fast to make it a good race there anymore.

Not sure about Road Atlanta, I'm just going to chalk it up to "track ownership not interested."

With Seca it -can- happen, it'd just be difficult.

When I saw MRTI had their championship weekend there I was hopeful Indy would follow suit, but alas I guess they wanted to stick with Lastcar's hometrack.

(I do LIKE Sears Point. I just think it's best as a venue for IMSA, Cup...with Indy being an "okay" fit there to run in spring)

The noise restrictions at Laguna Seca have gotten so bad that certain road cars are too loud to race there.
