Wait, are we not friends with Qatar anymore? Don't we have an air force base there? I distinctly remember taking a few four day passes there during OIF.

You're forgetting the comedy response that's only possible under Trump/Tillerson: The US says "sort this out among yourselves. Then the US immediately says the airbase stays operating exactly as it is and dares Qatar to do anything about it. Granted you can't practically supply without local markets, but Qatar would blink first. e; airbase is not naval M_Gargantua fucked around with this message at 05:46 on Jun 5, 2017 |

Phobophilia posted:this qatar thing is weird as gently caress, how did the us not hear any rumbling amongst ostensible allies that they were going to break with and diplomatically isolate another ally? Because there are hundreds of vacant mid-level positions at State right now that Trump has declined to fill, and surprisingly enough, some of those jobs would entail hearing rumblings amongst ostensible allies that they were going to break with and diplomatically isolate another ally.

Kellyanne even showed up. https://twitter.com/TODAYshow/status/871687143793491968 For consequental content though, we now know why Donnie never confirmed Article V of NATO in his speech.
