The highest buys a DJ lead ppv has ever done is 125k, you can't get ppv points on nothing.

Has Dana actually stated or even implied that PPV points were on offer for doing the TJ fight? I'm behind MM, but I didn't hear that Dana contradicted himself on the point of flyweight popularity and getting PPV dollars.

This feels kind of surprising because Dana has always read as a Lorne Michaels style squeaky wheel gets the grease kind of guy in his management style where the louder you are the more likely you are to get what you want so it's weird to see the squeaky wheel getting told to go gently caress it's self. But Dana isn't actually wrong.

Brain Curry posted:MMMDMMJ has never gotten ppv points so you might be better off doing the Amazon Prime twitch thing if you want to kick DJ a couple bucks. I read the thing and saw he doesn't get points I was just thinking more in terms of boosting his numbers so he has more bargaining power with the UFC, where the real money is.

Yeah but even if he does get points and numbers, you're just throwing money at the people who are loving him over.

If he wants a million a fight like he says or whatever, he should stop being bland as gently caress every moment he isn't in the cage. I love the guy and think he's a phenomenal fighter but he needs even a slight amount of self-awareness regarding his drawing ability and how his incredible blandness outside of the cage affects such ability. That said, it's a disgrace he doesn't get points.

Let me take this back to the boss and see what I can do. Ah they said no." it's also hosed up that they renegotiate all these big fights on a per fight basis. it's honestly a miracle that anything gets done. it's really one of the things that a union could improve is some kind of standardization of pay and stuff because it is all over the place and the overhead is stupidly huge

Apparently that's too hard because 99% of fighters say that poo poo post-fight. It's obnoxious because generally it's not true and most guys are in it to get paid and would want to fight a Conor McGregor to get a huge payday.

Like remember those web forum posts conor made when his record was like 3-0 over potatoes? He has been relentlessly self promoting his entire career, & growing his platform to do so as his profile raised. The UFC didn't do anything but give him a bigger stage to fight on. MM is the twitch guy, where's his remote from twitchcon for conan or something? Why is he never on talk shows? Why doesn't he go on one of the B tier ones and lift a fridge or bench press a stagehand? Why is the only social media content of his I've ever seen posted here a photo of him washing a fence? Why didn't he take the red panty night stuff and say it in interviews? Everyone says he's the P4P, why doesn't he call out some name 155 or 170 guy and demand a no weight limit fight that would never happen but would make everyone talk about it for two weeks? Why isn't he doing content for video game websites and magazines?

MM is sort of right in most of his rant; but he doesn't draw enough to make PPV points. I also like Dana's tantrum and threatening to kill the whole division. Eat some more steak, lift more, and make 135 idiots, your division is gone.
