basic hitler posted:They're the children of cuban expats who are really mad about what happened still that they support the embargo and other measures because they want to punish Castro at the expense of also pointlessly punishing the families and citizenry of the island. THey should be ashamed and ignored in national policy but it's entirely unsurprising. Angry right-wing Florida Cubans are mostly either the people or the descendants of the people who revolutions tend to happen because of.

Is this the appropriate place to discuss Vaporwave/Future Funk or am I barking up the wrong tree?

For Vaporwave you obviously have Macintosh Plus, who created "That Vaporwave Hook": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU8HrO7XuiE It's chopped and screwed Diana Ross, but the album, Floral Shoppe, is actually really good. Saint Pepsi has a similar thing going on, but with less off time editing and more hook looping: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hI0qMtdfng For the Future Funk side of things (which is my real fave), you take old and obscure disco tracks and amp up the slaps. マクロスMACROSS 82-99 is primarily future funk but also delves into vaporwave aesthetics at times. Here's a track from the SAILORWAVE album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtBOlvHwpFo Finally we have my personal favorite artist at the time, Yung Bae: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mb_YCIWEMk He samples a lot of obscure 80s pop and R&B artists from Europe and Asia and Bandcamp output is only a few bucks an album. Basically if you like anime/1980s/1990s aesthetics, you'll probably really enjoy this stuff.

Vaporwave has that huge image that I think someone on Reddit made, breaking everything down into the subgenres etc. But yeah, anything Vektroid put out under one of her many pseudonyms is going to be highly rated and a good place to start.

If you missed Danger's work on the Furi soundtrack you should definitely check it out, it's a lot...uh I dunno bigger? like his older work. This new one is a little muted in comparison.

I'm not digging this Danger album at all. What the hell happened? This is like the work of a completely different artist.

... yeah. There's a few rad spots, but wow, meh. Still not as disappointing as Justice's 'Woman' though. Neither of them is objectively a bad album I guess; like, I can see who each would appeal to... but that person is not me, even though I'm a big fan of previous material, so it's pretty frustrating. Which I admit is selfish but hey, the heart wants what it likes. I hope it reaches that not-me person somehow. Splizwarf fucked around with this message at 20:11 on Jun 6, 2017 |

Help, I started listening to synthwave a while ago and now I can't listen to anything else. It's wierd cause so much of the genre is so samey, but the stuff that stands out just hooks me. Has anyone mentioned OGRE in the thread yet? He's the artist who got me into the genre. https://ogresound.bandcamp.com/album/194

Com Truise had a pretty neat set up, but yeah, it's just some LED arrays showing abstract stuff that looked like the album covers. Still rad, though.
