I'm catching up on Toonami shows I've missed for the last few weeks and holy poo poo I don't even think I can enjoy Tokyo Ghoul ironically. I literally fell asleep watching it. Also I'm never gonna be able to catch up to HxH at this point. I'm like 15 episodes behind.

I zoned out in Season 2 when my friend wanted me to watch it, so I barely remember anything aside from the ending. Have Ghouls ever tried to eat the meat of other creatures that are still alive? Why is human flesh/organs the only thing they can eat aside from coffee? For that matter, why not collaborate with humanity to make some kind of coffee substitute food that prevents both sides from warring? Or at least have some kind of ambassadors or something that release a statement that not all Ghouls are like Rize or Jason Vorhees. None of this makes sense.

Also I only thought they drank the coffee because it has that weird hunger suppressant chemical. They still eat up suicide bodies if they are weak or can't hunt humans, so they're still likely just murdering homeless people while crying about why does everyone see them as monsters.

I kind of understand where he's coming from in that the series was written by Genndy and he has the ability to end it as he sees fit, but at the same time it does come across as an overly defensive statement. Especially in light of the fact that criticism of the ending doesn't do the show any harm.
