I saw that Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy came out a couple of days ago, does anyone have words they can say about it? Is it better or worse than DT2? I'm in the mood for another dungeon crawler but I'm not sure if I should pick this up or Stranger if Swordcity Revisited.

I liked it more than Demon Gaze 2, mostly due to the map design, but a lot less than Dungeon Travelers 2, again mostly due to the maps but also the combat and surrounding systems. It's fast and the Unite system is nice and abusable but it does end up feeling a bit lightweight in that Experience way. It does still have some clunky legacy Wizardry stuff (spell levels/casts per level and an irritating equipment system are alleviated but not fixed from the original games it is based on). Did you enjoy the prequel? It's a direct sequel so it's not that different and if you haven't played that you'll probably miss a fair bit in terms of tutorials and stuff. If you haven't played the previous game then give Sword City a look - there was at least a demo of the Japanese version so hopefully there's one in English you can try. One question on the series now that I think of it - how did they translate that one teacher into English? The one proper laugh I had in that was someone calling him a "fake-rear end gaijin" at one point. After the Unit 731 references and UNTRUSTWORTHY KOREAN CHARACTER #282736 it was nice to see a bit of self-awareness in the dialogue. In other Experience news, Shi'In has a demo out. I was going to try it until I looked at the 4gamer preview article which featured a picture of some vine-related "erotic murder," to borrow the thread title. I might play TOCS does the second one end on a lovely cliffhanger or is it not going to be a big deal if the third one never gets localised in the future

It is PS4 only though, in case that affects your decision.

No that wont be a problem because in the worst case remote play exists. I did like 60-70% of P5 on my Vita because I preferred the format after P4G.

Fair enough! Fully agreed on preferring the portable format but unfortunately mobile internet hasn't progressed to the point where I can do Remote Play on my commute so I suspect it'll take me a bit longer to get through CS3. Had a business trip at the other end of the country last week and took full advantage by getting through about a third of Trails FC Evo.

Maybe there's a better thread for it elsewhere, but I figure I'll ask here: what's the best YS game on the vita for someone who's never played any of them? Or should I just wait for VIII

Celceta, unless Origin or Oath are available somehow. Oath was on PSP and Origin came out on PS4 recently but I'm not sure it's available on the Vita. Seven is technically on the PSP as well but you'd be hard pressed to find a Ys game who says that's a good place to start.

The Vita version of Origin just came out this week. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them apart from 1+2 (old school and combat is an acquired taste) and maybe 6 (first 3D game and it shows). 7 and Celtceta have the new party battle system, Oath, Ys 6 and Origin are the classic you just have one character action RPGing.

Nah I don't have pstv. Just vita. I may wait to see how VIII looks unless knowing the previous entries is important.

Is the Vita version getting a localization? I thought it was just PS4 that was getting brought to the West.

Always glad to see a dungeon crawler that isn't set in high fantasy. I think that's why I liked operation abyss even though the mechanics were pretty archaic and bad on it.

Vanillaware's latest game, 13 Sentinels is coming to the west. http://gematsu.com/2017/06/13-sentinels-aegis-rim-coming-west It's PS4/Vita in Japan, but Atlus hasn't specified platforms in the west for some reason even though there's Playstation copyright information on their site.
