Incorrect. Battle Forged just means you use the detachments and can use CP. You could have an Imperial Detachment and a Chaos Detachment in the same army and still be Battle Forged.

You're thinking of the Matched Play rules where in addition to being Battle Forged your whole army must share a faction keyword, plus other restrictions on using psychic powers, reinforcement points, etc.

Dude I knew made an ork marine army back in third edition. They were the Sons of Gonad. Gonad is one of the lost primarchs and is also an ork (modelled using a metal fantasy giant)

There were grot scouts, unicycle cybork marines and he ran them as any chapter that took his fancy. It was great and painted well but I cannot find any pictures. Snot green, black edging and the chapter icon on a block letter G.

Plenty of the traitor legions stayed loyal though.

Though Dark Imperium talks about the corrupting powers of some Chaos artefacts, which leads to them blocking them using the sisters of silence to approach them.
