It's not as nice when the primary points of contention are whether or not women, ethnic minorities, and LGBTQ people are, in fact, people. Like, I'm not faulting Comey for his optimism, just saying that it really doesn't make the last year seem less awful than it was. Republicans are still monstrous people who have no place in a civilized society.
