I don't have the full details but apparently the next map pack was show at the ea e3 show and they said something like 4 new operations maps and 6 new general maps in the next pack.

I love when the stars align like that. I got the most bullshit kill I've seen in my 10+ days of playing BF1 and I'm pissed my ps4 didn't capture it. Some British guy came rushing around a corner doing a bayonet charge while on fire, I shot him with the lebel once but it didn't kill him. I guess I managed to hit the melee button right at the perfect moment because he ran into me and the bayonet animation started and then he died from a shovel without it animating it on my screen. I would have been furious if I was on the other side of that situation.

The Xbox opt in teamspeak system never gets old. There I am relaxing to a late night round of BF1 when, much to my chagrin, suddenly the voice of a young teenage male comes out of my TV. "gently caress," he says. Then, "gently caress you too, gently caress you too, gently caress you also, gently caress." Within the next minute he and someone else begin fighting back and forth over the merits of, "finding your mic" and/or "shutting up." This fight seemingly goes on for the rest of the round. Thank you Xbox for making this possible.

Is there ever going to be a way to buy just one map pack? I don't want to drop $50 on premium, but I wouldn't mind spending $20 or whatever to buy the first map pack.

They routinely do "Premium Pals" thing where if you are in a Squad (party?) with someone with premium it carries over to you. That said, the DLC so far has been the best out of the last couple of rounds.

I can understand being against the concept of premium, but if you're fine with paying a bit extra for some maps and new guns, why not pay a little more for all of them? I was just in a discussion with a friend, and my conclusion is that battlefield premium tend to be a good deal. I mean, you can add it together to being $140 and it's a bit crazy, but if you're like me and you have more than a hundred hours of enjoyment playing this, why not spring for a bit more and get a bunch more. I guess my main thought is it's not like horse armour dlc, the amount of content is basically like the old expansions for PC games. And even more in their favour, all the DLC for battlefield 4 and hardline eventually became free (during limited times) so that if you were patient enough, you could have had all the content anyways! I mean, gently caress the whole capitalist machine, and gently caress the gaming industry for the frivolous DLC that are already contained on the disc but you have to pay to unlock, but I don't think that's the case in this particular instance, where they continue to work on it after release, adding content. Probably helps to have the people who made the game still around for patching rather than moving on to new projects. That ended up being way too many words for something that doesn't really matter that much to me, guess I got carried away. I'm going to play some nivelle nights, hopefully it's as fun as it looks.

Nevile nights map is good. It is gorgeous and really well made. The church at D and the tank cemetery at C are just.. really going to be a blast. Main gripe so far is in conquest it just feels... too huge. It is almost made for frontline and on that mode it really is awesome.
