I'm the guy that uses apple pay cause it's accepted at around 80% of the local businesses here, and since all of their CC machines have horrible chip readers it normally takes like 5 tries to get it to register.

i use Android Pay on my phone wherever possible bc it is nice to just mash the phone against the machine *ploonk* and walk away. plus it makes me feel like i'm in the future.

Sagebrush posted:this is the dumbest man in the universe like, it's insane, but i have to admit it's bordering on reasonable from a cost point of view assuming the dude didn't just move because of whatever actual good reason, having a second non-poverty spec one bedroom apartment in sf is what, 3-4k? his flights cost $2300 + maybe 1k in parking for both ends per month. then it's basically the cost of renting the car vs furnishing an apartment and other incidentals pretty much the same costs, and doing something like weekdays in sf/weekend in la would seriously tilt the costs in favor of the insane plan assuming he actually works on the plane, compress his office hours a bit (ideally to avoid peak traffic hours) and it starts making sense says a lot about the sf real estate market that this bullshit might actually be saving him money
