Is it that unlikely that they'll release Stars along with UltraSun/Moon for the holidays? Unless they're adding cross-play and/or a few Stars-exclusive Pokemon it's kind of weird to see new versions since the original games haven't even been out a year. Have they ever done a deluxe release 1 yr later with any of the other main pkmn games? edit: aw shux, ok

Blue came out 8 months after R/G Yellow came out 23 months after Blue Crystal came out 1 year and 1 month after GS FireRed/Leaf Green came out 1 year and 2 months after RS with Emerald 9 months after that Platinum came out exactly 2 years after DP with HG and SS exactly 1 year later Black 2/White 2 came out a year and 9 months after BW Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire came out a year and 1 month after XY So US/UM coming 1 year after SuMo falls in line with most other "enhanced" or remade releases. In terms of completely original releases: RG were in Feb. 1996 GS were in November 1999 RS were in November 2002 DP were in September 2006 BW were in September 2010 XY were in October 2013 SM were in November 2016 So a 3-4 year wait between new games is the standard. I'd rather have the Switch game be a completely new game and not a port of a 3DS title. Also I do wonder if its even going to come in a pairs like other core series games or if its going to be a stand-alone thing.
