It can't be BOJO because he has some of the responsibility for the grenfell disaster.

And by own property they mean "this chunk of the land they conquered they decided belong to them directly". Also with how hard some of the tory press is trying to cover their rear end on Grenfell, I would still not be surprised at prime minister Bojo being a thing for the next 5-6 months.

Agnosticnixie posted:And by own property they mean "this chunk of the land they conquered they decided belong to them directly". I think Bojo would have squeaked a majority tbh, a lot more UKIP would have broken to him than May and also like, misogyny is still a thing that undoubtedly hurt May on top of everything else, and he still looks like the tories best hope right now. It's just hard to tell, if it's him then London is totally Labour, we can take Chipping Barnet and places like that with just a few leaflets saying what he didn't (fire service) and did (vanity projects) spend money on, but presumably there's much less anger towards the tories and Bojo particularly outside the capital right now. Comedy option, When You're Feeling The Pinch, It's Time For Crabb! Other than that it's hard to see who the tories can put up that isn't tainted or incompetent. It really does seem like Cameron was so presumptuous of Osborne as a successor that he's done a Blair and not given any young hotshots in the party a leg up at all.

I love that this whole mess is a product of Tory backbenchers being as deathly afraid of PM BoJo as they are of PM Corbyn. Toxify the brand for generations!

Crabb faces the same problem as Rudd in that Preseli Pembrokeshire was run very close in the election and a concerted effort there could see him turfed out.

PM bojo is never going to happen unless they just anoint him and he would be destroyed by corbyn. His personal popularity has been on a downward slope basically his whole career and nosedived after he lied about brexit repeatedly to everyone's faces. Only baloogan likes him because he's a Canadian so roughly 10 years behind the British in terms of political opinions.

I think if the next election is soon and Corbo did a Trump style "LOCK THEM UP" thing with both May and Blair on it he would win 500 seats.
