The worst has to be Maron. He'll have an episode with an awesome guest (like, he had Obama on) and he still does 10 - 15 minutes of hardcore kvetching about his awesome, awesome life every time. No one cares, Mark. No one cares about your sad rich Hollywood feelings.

I can't stand the whole personality cult that seems to spring up around politicians. You got it with Thatcher and Reagan in the 80s, you got it with Blair and Obama 10 years ago, you sort of got it with Clinton in the last American election, and you have it in spades with Sanders and Corbyn right now. It's terribly aggravating. The people who indulge in it are always a bunch of fanatics and wonks.

Frankly, people who really passionately believe in anything annoy me a great deal.

It annoys me when people don't care about politics. I don't mean glued-to-your-TV-all-day-every-day caring, I mean caring about your state representatives, having some idea of what's being done by the people tasked with maintaining the country's well-being. Conservative or liberal doesn't matter, just as long as someone takes some interest. If people aren't willing to pay attention to the greater issue of government, then they shouldn't be surprised to see their quality of life decrease.

People not giving a poo poo is why we have fuckheads like Trump in office. Hillary Clinton might have been the living incarnation of a sloppy blowjob to Wall Street, but at this point I would take George W. Bush over President Donnie.

Yep, lots of that around Ron Paul in 2008 and 2012.

It's the starry-eyed hero worship that I can't abide. I can't stand the whole "they're the only person in politics with principles" angle that always crops up.

It is some small comfort that these people end up feeling monstrously disappointed when their hero gets in and fails to live up to their ludicrous expectations. You already see it with some Trump supporters. Ideally, they would subsequently become disenchanted with politics to the extent that they never involve themselves in it again, but that's certainly too much to hope for. More likely they just double down.

Don't get me wrong, I think Bush and Cheney deserve to drown forever in a lake of flaming diarrhea, but Trump has the potential to involve us in even worse crises. In fact, I believe the only thing preventing a disaster of that proportion is Donnie's own incompetence -- nobody takes him seriously enough to respond to his threats and rise to his bait. But if he's not pushed out of office soon, he'll eventually piss someone off enough -- or, more likely, get pissed off enough -- that we'll end up in yet another useless, wasteful war which will kill thousands of people and further ruin America's credibility as well as cause yet another tangle of disaster for the next president -- and the American people -- to have to sort through.

And the worst part is no matter what happens, Trump will get out of everything scot-free. He will continue to be a billionaire, he will continue to have unrestricted freedom, and will never, ever have to pay the price for his incompetence.

I'm not even American and just by virtue of living on the internet can tell you that the internet can't do poo poo about Politics. Ron Paul, Kucinich, Sanders etc. were all deified online and promptly got dunked on in the real world.

loving Ron Paul is a full-on conservative and somehow managed to get a huge fanbase online in 2008. Those idiots probably ended up forming the alt-right internet movements because of his huge 'libertarian' fanbase being scattered and mixed with racists. I guess now you've elected a literal pig monster, Ron Paul did actually end up making anime real.

Nah, I mean, that's why Ron Paul became the messiah for, say, 15-year old self-proclaimed communists on the Internet despite being diametrically opposed to what they claimed to believe - he was going to legalise cannabis.

setting up a new bank account for ourselves, the banker would only look at me and only talk to me - and when my wife would ask a question he would only answer towards me, and the second she got a crappier deal (on our joint account i might add) and she questioned it, he asked me "are you going to let her talk like that?" - I was kind and only ripped up everything we had done to that point and not jumped over the table and knocked some loving sense into him

Wow that's some egregious sexism.

Peeve: Job titles in adverts featuring unnecessary information. There are already fields for salary, location and contract length! I have to edit this crap out because it doesn't fit in my job search logs and it's making my attempts to filter unwanted results much harder. I can't even edit this crap out automatically as the information isn't included in a consistent manner. It wouldn't be so bad if the information made the job noticeably more attractive. In some cases they're actually advertising an inferior salary to most other similar vacancies.

Yeah, something like that happened to me at work recently. My (male) colleague and I were meeting with this guy to get a project update, and the guy would only look at and talk to my colleague, and would only email him updates. Got to the point where my colleague had to directly tell him to include me.

Apparently the environment where this guy works is super hyper stupid macho. He told his co-workers that he bought a hybrid, and someone responded "what, you mean a VAGINA CAR?!" :iceburn:

People should still see it though whether it's on the belt or not. It's usually pretty prominent.

I just wish they would use the green/red lights on their aisle properly. Nobody ever does this. Half the lit up ones are unstaffed, half the dark ones are available. What even is the point of the lights since no store I've ever been to in the US or europe can figure something so basic out?

Lol. When I worked as a cashier, people would always come up to my till and yell at me because my light wasn't on. Then I had to tell them that we didn't have lights on our tills at this particular store.

I like reading the dailymail and its comments because they are both poo poo and can be amusing sometimes but one comment on a story just really boils down something that makes me really mad about commentary.

Here's the article, though not that important:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4615928/Ten-year-old-girl-arm-severed-pit-bull-Detroit.html

I figure pit bull stories are always fun for comments because it degrades into that terrible argument without fail. But then someone commented: "We, who(m?) post comments on DM are simply ordinary people. So why is it we figure out solutions to various things when the experts can't figure out the basics let alone any solutions? It is jaw dropping every single time there is a dog mauling. WHY!?"

And it blows my mind that some people live with occam's razor solutions to everything, and don't think that maybe there are other factors they don't realize affecting this big social problem, but if everyone would just blah blah then its so obvious! I mean, to have such a lack of faith in people that study subjects for lifetimes who try to find all the threads that tie into a problem that they think that their joe off the street opinion is just simply the correct solution is mind boggling... So yeah my pet peeve is also people who think they know more than 'experts' for no reason other than because they do.

On tv shows they always leave full plates of food when the characters get up from a meal. Often they will sit down, receive their food, have a conversation, then leave without eating anything. The only time they'll show an empty plate is when commenting on how hungry one of the characters is.

Not a peeve but related, whenever I see stuff like this I remember Aziz Ansari saying that during scenes involving food and eating on Parks and Rec, Chris Pratt wouldn't use a spit bucket and instead just genuinely wolfed down eight burgers to do a scene :allears:
