"Sir I have to tell you, I do have a firearm on me" "Okay, don't reach for it though, don't pull it out." "I'm not pulling it out." **Cop screams hysterically and unloads clip** poo poo is so retarded and needless, it's depressing as gently caress. e] At least he saved that little girl from the trauma of second-hand smoke though.

Hey guys! I've been avoiding this very thread because I just can't loving quit reading about depressing poo poo. I come back, and get to watch a cop murder someone. COOL! I voted for the white guy in Georgia, and not the white lady. It's me, I'm the patriarchy.

Non comically-terrible-shooting news: The Georgia runoff election results are starting to trickle in. Ossoff is 3 points behind with 1% reporting. It's apparently the most expensive house race in history. https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/georgia-congressional-runoff-ossoff-handel I fully trust democrats to poo poo the bed.

The fact that they are winning these districts by margins that are significantly smaller than what they usually get is still indicative that people are not happy with how this poo poo has been going and that does not bode well for the GOP in '18 if it continues. The Dems can still gently caress things up but they can still get a repeat of '06 if they don't gently caress up too many things. Again it's not just straight up winning and losing. It's the breakdown that matters. It's been red for 40 years. Price won the last election by 20+ points. First, he nearly won this in the primary. And now head to head he is sitting at +200 lead with 44% in. So at some point there has been a major shift in thought. And that's with out any actual policy changes. The reds haven't even started screwing people on a measurable scale. Dems shouldn't be worried about wins and losses as much as learning what's moving voters so when they have to run for all of these actual movable seats in 2018 they don't do dumb gently caress things. It should be looked at as an experiment in messaging rather than trying to outright wins.

I'm actually surprised neither Ossof nor Handel don't have something scandalous or super dumb about them that the respective parties couldn't beat each other with.

Tbh the dems are historically terrible at running house races in general. Like how my district is a rural, socialist leaning/hippie one but every two years without fail they run a developer guy or a stock trader so our republican country boy wins by default

Let me put that 14.2 million dollar TV ad buy in context. The international client I worked for last year had nation-wide tv campaigns that were in the 8-10 million dollar range. The democrats burned that on one state.

I am positive that 8 million dollars in other costs included an extensive digital programmatic campaign. 22 million to saturate the Georgia landscape. Jesus you give a media agency 22 million for a national campaign and we will go apeshit.

And to go even further, political tv buys work on different rules. Advertisers pay a cut rate on local tv where mark up doesn't really exist and they are allowed to run ads in highly coveted spots where others can't buy. So that 14.2 million figure goes further than, say, Ford or Dell buying on the same local ad space.

Heard a piece on NPR at work today about how a local tv channel in the district scheduled another newscast to sell more ad time and get a bigger slice of the election funbucks. That's real multi-dimensional chess. And probably pays better than running another catheter commercial.
