Three things killed Ossoff. The run-off system, the fact he didn't live in his district, and Nancy Pelosi. Almost every attack ad focused on where he lived and how he'd take orders from Pelosi. That woman is a loving anchor on any Democrat running in a red or purple district. I can't see how the Democratic Party is benefiting from her in a leadership role. It's not like she has preceded over a never ending string of victories over the last 4 years. loving Democrats.

Subsidizing the Realtor profession isn't a compelling economic argument for why renters (who are poorer on average) should have their tax dollars go to people who can afford to buy homes, realtors, and the mortgage industry. Plus, the way the deduction is structured means that the larger your mortgage and the more money you make, the larger your tax break. It incentivizes people to spend more money on real estate and real estate financing, which is not economically better than just having that tax money back in the form of a larger standard deduction.
