It can be related but not a dodge. Like now that his salary's dropped he doesn't feel like putting up with encasing himself in allergy hell for two thirds of the calendar year.

It's great for the Hawks to be without their third or fourth best player who can chip in with twenty or so goals, who is also responsible defensively. Brilliant.

Yea skin allergies can arise/worsen unexpectedly, and some of those meds are brutal.

As an example, erythema multiformae is hell to have, and treating it by taking 50 mg of prednisone daily for 6 months wrecks your gut and metabolism.

If it's anything like that, then sure you can manage it, and on-ice adrenaline probably dulls any pain for a bit. Makes sense to go through that for multi-millions and a legit shot at a final Cup run. If it's taking its toll, and he's a year older on a lower take-home salary with the roster looking weaker, then it's worth considering retirement.

As it happens, the Hawks would benefit cap-wise. Recapturing was a flawed panic solution from the get-go though, so whatever.

MAF to Vegas is cool, especially if it's somehow not with a 1st-round pick. Shame about the new jerseys, a golden helmet would look perfect atop Fleury's head.

This turn of events is considerably better than him retiring (and considering he's making $1M a year for the next four years there was essentially zero chance he intended to play them). If he'd just retired rather than succumb to his suddenly debilitating disease, the Hawks would've still been out that 20 goal scoring defensively responsible winger but also slapped with a $4.25M penalty. This way they can throw him on LTIR, spend that cap space on someone else, then watch him have a miraculous recovery around oh... I dunno... April 12, 2018?

The Blackhawks have been a particularly garbage franchise the past 6-7 years, so no surprise here.

I think if this happens then the nhl for real would look at eliminating the patrick kane loophole

I think he made a beautiful post and did a great job and he is good.
I am a fan of the New Jersey Devils and the Washington Capitals.

Both of their new jerseys are awful.

That is all.

If they had to change the Devils, I was hoping they would bring back the green. Aren't they supposed to get black thirds or summat too?

2 years ago I started breaking out all over in itchy patches that would come and go. Went to a dermo and he said that my body just decided to produce a bunch of histamines because it thought it was being attacked. This literally came out of nowhere and was miserable. So I took Allegra every day for about 9 months and then one day I realized it was just gone. Hasn't been back. The adult human body is weird and poo poo just jumps up out of nowhere. Add that in with a lifetime of wearing nasty, sweaty, stinky gear 6 or 7 days a week and I'm sure that something like this could definitely happen.

What I'm saying is that I'm basically Marian Hossa.

I started breaking out in itchy rashes last October, and by December I was convinced I had bedbugs. I'd wake up in the middle of the night, scratching like crazy but with no relief. Went to my doc and a dermatologist and got diagnosed with psoriasis, folliculitis, and a side of eczema. I've done rounds of corticosteroids that keeps it down for a couple of weeks, and now I'm on 4 hour antihistamines to keep the itch in check.

Sounds to me like Hossa's condition is worse than mine, which is already no fun. I have it on my arms, legs, stomach, and scalp. Anyone writing this whole thing off to some cap relief strategy can get hosed.

Dallas sweaters continue to look sharp af. They changed the collar a bit but kept the laces and it's good. Looks like they cropped the green on the away shoulders a bit but that might just be the pic angle. They wrote the name of the colour or the collar for... a reason. Aaaaaand they got speed holes. Gonna go so fast.

We'll need a new ginger to bring out the Irish look once Vegas selects Eakin. And also a player with a Pokemon name.

E: actually the black hem/arm stripes look bigger too. Not bad, basically the opposite of what the oilers did with the opposite result (it's better).

All home openers released

Flyera are part of 3 home openers on the road before their own

Oct. 4 @ SJ
Oct. 5 @ LA
Oct. 10 @ NSH

Their own is Oct. 14 against the Caps, 10 days after opening night and the last team in the league to have their home opener

If it gets the California road trip out of the way right from the start then I ain't mad at it
