I agree with this, but I ask because one of the arguments being made now is that the NRCC ran a bunch of ads against Ossoff (and Thompson and Quist) about a vote for them being a vote for Pelosi to bring her radical socialist jihad upon America. Some are saying that ditching her removes that problem, assuming you can get a less well-known villain to fill her shoes.

I have my doubts about this because I think the Republicans are just going to label any Democrat as the second coming of Mao, but I'm curious what others think.

You're right that the Republicans in concert with the entire ecosystem of talk radio, Fox News, and the entire conservative media will make any Democrat seem like an assault on apple pie, puppies and all that is decent. But I'm at a loss to explain what Nancy Pelosi actually stands for, other than she's good at raising money from the donor class.

How about someone who can say something without running it by a focus group and who is younger than 75?

lol man this is the most hypocritical loving garbage from Pelosi

quote:

The documents help explain why and how Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi is trying to squash her own party’s desire to fight for a health care system in which the government is the single payer for necessary medical expenses and the health insurance industry is all but eliminated as a middle man.

Asked by VICE News’ Evan McMorris-Santoro whether she was for a single-payer system, Pelosi said she’s supported the idea for decades but that the American public isn’t there yet.

“I say to people, ‘If you want it, do it in your states. States are laboratories,’” she said. “States are a good place to start.”

[...]

When I asked a Pelosi aide about her position, I was sent a Vox piece on the cost of California’s single-payer health care plan — $400 billion per year, or twice the state’s budget.

democrats can't accomplish anything because the party leadership is actively fighting against what the base wants.

So I walked into my coworkers hotel room last night (we're on a "business" trip) and everyone's bummed out watching CNN. They told me Ossoff lost and my first reaction was an unavoidable "pfffftt lol."

They looked at me shocked (all my coworkers are young Hillary libs). I told them Ossoff was too moderate to shake up the vote. One of them said that Dems shouldn't have to "motivate voters." That Republicans are garbage and voters just need to show up. This is what millions of Democrats believe. That voters should naturally know better and should obviously be voting Democrat. I told her that that's why they keep losing....
