I really liked Tropico 2 but it is drastically different from the others. The music for both games is fantastic.

Tropico 2 remains one of my favorite soundtracks of all time and it's a shame it's been a bit looked over. It's just such incredibly happy chill music. I remember when I got Tropico 2 and I was holed up in my room playing it while my roommate was hanging out with a date of his in the apartment. I left my room to get a drink or something and they are both like 'whatever you are playing has some awesome music'. To elaborate further, the Japanese names were corruptions instead of being on the nose. So instead of Flame Mammoth, it would be something like the Japanese equivalent of Flammoth (not the actual one but you get the idea). Boomer Kuwanger went unchanged from Japan to English because...I don't know.

maybe the localization team either didn't know what a kuwagata was in japanese, or they didn't know what a beetle was in english  in tyool 2017 it's easy to forget that wikipedia has only been around for like a decade and a half

Probably because they didn't know what the actual animal name was either.
