They better fix the lovely Bluetooth in the next rendition of the Pixel if they expect people to rely on it for headphones

I don't know why they keep harping on about it working from a block away when nobody loving uses bluetooth like that.

Yes, it cuts out for me in my pocket but that's all the phones I've had, not just Pixel. The extended range, I assume, includes how much of your own fatbody it can penetrate.

The only time ive lost the connection was through the brick wall while being about 25 feet away from my phone while i was working in my back yard and the phone being inside the house.

My headset seems to work pretty well up to around 30 feet away and through a few walls. The build quality is still lovely, though. I've had two break in the exact same way in less than a year of use, where pressing the play/pause button too hard or just at a certain angle causes it to freak out and skip back/forward through tracks. Also, if that button is somehow sitting the wrong way, you can't turn the headset on or off, so you have to jiggle it to get it to work again. It sounds like build quality is a problem for most Bluetooth headsets, though. Wireless headphones suck and are good. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

In the city, Bluetooth headphones tend to be pretty flaky. Traffic lights, of all things, seem to cause interference

The lightboard sign recently installed at the end of my street consistently makes Google Play Music skip ahead when I pull up next to it. It's definitely true that environmental interference causes most Bluetooth problems.

I forget if I already posted this, but I know a few of you were having the same problem with that new Nova Launcher beta + companion app for swipe left for Google Now thing not working. It's definitely working flawlessly for me now after the latest updates (on Pixel XL), so I recommend trying it again!

I'm pretty sure it is because of the gazillion WiFi access points including the Spectrum ones hanging from the lines on the street that I doubt are with at least consumer spec given how far the signal travels.

Flashing to 7.1.1 got rid of the restarting problems I had with 7.1.2 may & June, and 8.0.0. Pixel is good again. On another note, my brother and his friends got pixels totally free at Glastonbury, some promotion Google had where you could hand in your 5 year old iPhone and get one.

I can't understand why you WOULDN'T want to beta-test an operating system on a primary computer / potentially literal lifeline! Seriously, even if you're willing to tangle with software weirdness, running anything earlier in development than a release candidate on your phone is a recipe for Bad Times. Especially when everything syncs back up to Google's (in this case) servers and the sync can be part of the beta-test.
