is that the one where you go to the bench and then scripted spiky monster sneaks in and stabs you while your inventory is open? Vsync works the same way.

bumpin' with another tangentially related question, assuming i need stock footage for a project and that i'm not into the whole $80-per-clip-oh-god-i-need-like-40 pricing model of shutterstock, what other provider should i look at, ideally with a flat monthly/yearly? videoblocks @$100-$150/y seems good even though they don't have exactly what i was able to find on shutterstock, anything else i should look at?

Is kodi a better option than vlc? Asking for a friend. Any thoughts on the new $600 TCL 55P607 55" as a stopgap measure until better high end TVs are released in 2019. It has about 600 "nits".

RISCy Business posted:hmmmmm... don't understand any of this but i bet it sucks tl;dr if you're filming things for Netflix Originals you have to shoot in 4K (not "4K" but actually 4096 pixels across), and you can't use anything other than pro-tier cameras. Checksum all your footage and keep a bunch of backups. You have to keep everything organized and your dailies have to be in a certain format. People who do these things for a living shouldn't have a problem with these; that being said Netflix still has problems with poo poo like movie studios burning in subtitles and delivering Russian audio when it should be Hebrew.

confession time: I bought a 27inch 4k/UHD asus "gaming" monitor for programming with. any dark scene is impossible to see, even in a dark room. if the sun is out forget it, even with the blinds closed. no UI i've thrown at it scales properly and it's impossible to read tiny fonts. so all those pixels are totally wasted. dumbest purchase i've ever made.

MALE SHOEGAZE posted:confession time: I bought a 27inch 4k/UHD asus "gaming" monitor for programming with. 27" 4k is indeed dumb, unfortunately. you have to, on wandows, use the system scaling, and that won't work with some apps either, and will utilise the pixels about as much as setting a 1440p resolution will not sure what's on with dark scene in dark room tho, that poo poo is figured out. just find least-bad "preset" and then gently caress it up further, maybe get a calibration config somewhere on the internet

the two asus gamertrash 27" 4Ks are sure gamertrash, but the panels are more than enough to display your monokai-themed ide in any light condition that isn't a directed projector beam. but neither of them is cheaper than $800
