What exactly can they take away from Anub without completely destroying the whole concept behind him, which is two kinds of stuns? Two kinds of hard CC will always be good.

Is anub the only character with 2 proper CC abilities? Muradin's secondary stuns seem too short to matter for anything except interrupting channels. I think anub wouldn't be so must-play if there were more characters with ample crowd control.

Anub has always had really strong CC but he sucked for such a long time until they gave him really good spell shield. Nerf that and make him really squishy again, and he'll be back to being one of the worst warriors.

Exactly. Anub has been oscillating between "clearly the best tank by a wide margin" and "nerfed so hard he's now completely useless (as a tank)" for as long as he's been in the game. Even the whole Spell Armor thing was just concocted to try and find him a healthy niche. He's not actually oppressing the meta or anything like that, his win rate is actually fairly reasonable. His popularity is just through the roof because he's the only main tank pick with really great CC.

Absent that he really isn't very fun because people tend to not react to the things you try to make happen with his unique abilities.

What the other guy said about coordination, it helps to be on a team with actual voicechat etc. but apart from that the team still has to be built around him, much like Illidan, etc. so their winrates will always be a bit depressed That said, he is not at all in a good place in the meta right now even comped around him, just in terms of S or A tier drafting

A comp built with him in mind and communicating CAN be a nightmare, in addition since he's not a support you can wind up in nasty situations with both teams having 0 supports, but Medivh providing a lot of clutch mitigation. there's some funny wombo combos that stick out from his ults or say stitches hooking then eating and running deep back into base using portals. In draft I can't think of much he can bring to the table that isn't brought by others -without a major trade off from a drop in a 5th player doing/soaking damage or pushing. It's a bit like how some stealth characters if played right can ensure the other team can never have someone alone, but in practice just wind up sitting near team fights swooping in to steal last hit. Since he's poo poo at waveclear or other generic "Well at least it's a body," stuff it means those amazing "He gave vision for ultra long range snipes and saved his team from death constantly, and synergized with every nasty combo" or "Dude just flew around as a bird watching us teamfight while throwing down portals that got me murdered/blocked me from clicking enemies to finish them off" sticks out.

I love Abathur, gently caress the haters. Was just in a game with goons where we were down 2 and just had Li Ming and Zag with 50% health poking the entire enemy team at the boss on the Egypt map. Hatted Zag, managed to shield heal and then spike the entire enemy team fully healing her back up to full and chunking the gently caress out of them all, then our Samuro showed up, I cloned him, we both cloned out, and suddenly there's like 10 of us beating them all to death. Team wiped them, then pushed with the boss straight through their bottom Fort and dropped their Core to like 8%, then I threw a mine by the core and our minions finished it off. This was after they kinda had been having the upper hand for much of the game, though any time we got into a good fight and I was hatting Sammy or Leoric we'd tear through them because they had squishy assassins, mostly, but yeah... drat fun. Edit: also in curious what this dream rig is. I can pay for my own, but if they really trick it out that'd be easy enough to flip and make some bank off of.

My favorite era was when you got all the beetle talents and they actually did a ton of damage, had decent health, spawned them passively on top of when you use skills, and had life steal for Anub so you just had an army of dudes refilling your health bar constantly.

Scared the poo poo out of them and scattered them everywhere. And it worked every single time the objective was up. Double Nazeebos or Zagaras are pretty good too. There's just so many skills going off, the screen is a mess and there's frogs/spiders/zergs everywhere.

Below that he is completely worthless, where there is a 100% chance that every person who ends up in your draft will slampick an assassin or specialist and feed all game.

An orb focus medivh can get by in quick match. Just know that no one is going to click the portals. But his vision and shields can pull his own weight. The problem is people look at hotslogs and see the masters tier portal build and then take dead talents

Medivh is actually really growing on me, even for QM. Yeah, people will gently caress up portals without VOIP, but that just means I get to use them to bully the gently caress out of people then dip out as soon as they try to go on me. His shield is amazing, and Rift kind of shits out damage when you finish Master's Touch. Hunting down Abathurs is also the funniest thing, even if they can easily burrow out if they're paying attention. Dude just wants a stress-free game where he hats friends and soaks lanes, but nah, better run bugman.
