I have a couple of 15,000 V, 30mA neon sign transformers that are perfect for jacobs ladders. I should drag them off the shelf, it's been awhile since I played with high voltage.

as a kid i took the little electric motor out of a slot car and bent the two little prongs so they'd fit into the end of one of these plugs  and proceeded to burn a hole in my shirt due to the explosion of sparks that erupted

i envied the sounds my great grandmother's electric typewriter would make when she would write up her memoirs or shopping lists or idkwtf to that end i employed a lamp cord, an old mechanical typewriter and my trusting younger brother my mom will still try to tell this as a story of my 6 y/o genius and i will always tell her, no seriously that was not bright that was funny funny anecdote but your son isn't and wasn't smart

It's not at all high voltage but the last time I shocked myself I was putting the tail on a network cable while up a ladder. I needed the crimps from my pocket, so I held the wire in my mouth and was very quickly reminded that this was a PoE run and I had already plugged it into the injector. Unpleasant but not fatal.

we had some kind of a old cable box powered by poe coax and the injector never got removed when we changed boxes. house doesn't have grounds so i shocked myself like a dozen times over a few years before i took a serious look behind the entertainment center thing when we had to rerun a cable
