Despite Chiarelli saying any offer sheet will be matched, I can guarantee you there will be no offer sheet to Draisaitl because NHL GMs hate giving offer sheets now, even though this is one of the better times to offer sheet a player.

I wouldn't go that far. Alzner isn't going to crosscheck a guy into his own goalie. He's the better of the two when healthy.

Yup. According to Bobo on twitter, teams/agents weren't allowed to talk specific numbers with regards to term and price so it's gonna be funny if there are teams that agreed to deals but they end up arguing over actual numbers.

I think that would be funny, but it's probably either all but ignored or ....

"Let's say if I wrote a number down on a piece of paper and turned around... and when I turned back around that paper is gone, well... I wouldn't go looking for it." (wink wink)

Andersson probably gets a long look if he doesn't come to camp fat again.

Crazy how quickly the Flames defensive depth has been loaded. Andersson, Kylington, Fox, and Valimaki now all have huge potential. Parsons and Gillies in net pipeline too.

You can always trade a defenceman for a forward.

Can't complain with Tkachuk jumping into a top 6 role immediately. He was great with Backlund and Frolik all year.

Free agency begins in 12 hours.

With the cap space the Penguins have, I am really excited to see what happens. Bonino is probably gone. Heard they want to do a deal with Schultz. Daley probably gone. If Kunitz stays its going to be for under 2 million. Rumors or Thornton were floating around, which would be loving awesome for our third line.

My hope is that Jagr ends up back in Pittsburgh by some sleight of hand miracle. Guy can still play, and I can't imagine he would be a huge hit against the cap.

I get that just because Ladd and Oduya bombed in their reunion stints that it doesn't mean the same will happen for Sharp, but he's 35 and coming off a hip injury. And concussions. I don't see that ending well. I just hope the contract is cheap.

Yeah. Niemi and JR has his eye on a defenseman (Franson, maybe?) but other than that, wait for the trade. Doesn't sound like the Pens are going to be real active in the UFA market.

A man can dream. Thornton and Jagr on the same line though man so much for a speed game. If Markov is available he could probably fill in on the 3rd pairing nicely if the price is right.
