Maybe Gwen will realize that even though they have an emotional connection he's still a fat, ugly, slovenly mental manchild and sometimes physical attraction is just as important as mental attraction and will be willing to try dating dudes that aren't mega nerds. Dude didn't even bother to put effort into dressing nice for his date.
