They did a really great job taking Stukov, a character who barely had any abilities, and turning him into a real hero with a fully-fledged kit. I'm very, very looking forward to whatever the gently caress they do with Mengsk.

I've seen a few people in game with a player level over 1600 and wonder what their hero page looks like. Lots more 20+ heroes I suppose.

I imagine how much like in Overwatch people identified and wrote guide videos on places to charge people with Reinhardt that would deposit them off cliffs without going over yourself it won't be long before someone writes the ultimate Stukov shoving guide that tells you exactly where to stand to shove people the maximum possible distance on each map.

Might be worth it, since you've still got heals bouncing between folks and if your body is on say an objective you're not losing much. Plus when the stun ends you're in the frey, they're not. You are right though that you'll have to gauge if it's better to just knock the dude out of position. It might just wind up being another fun gimmick like mind control where the other ult is the right choice 99% of the time. We'll have to see.

He has visual effects for abilities called Propaganda Tower, Xel'Naga Artifact, and Psi Emitter. A whole bunch of voice clips too.

Yes but he also get 50 Armor, which means he's going to only take half damage from everyone suddenly focusing him while he's channeling it. So you're probably a bit less likely to get blown up like a Mind Control Sylvanas. Especially if there's another support or a Medivh on your team to help you weather being focused. At absolute worst it turns the fight into a 4v4, but your pustules are still ticking on everyone. In the ideal case you've completely removed a hero from the fight with minimal effort from the rest of your team and can come back to the fight a full man up with cooldowns ready to go.

Though I can't think of any support characters that had the problem of being terrible on release.

Release Tassadar was probably the weakest character in the game outside of niche, map-specific strategies (for instance, permanently stalling the old Grave Golem with Force Wall).

I didn't play Starcraft 2 so I only know Stukov as a cool dude who got killed, neat that he's apparently Soul Calibur's Nightmare now. His heal thing seems to borrow from WoW monk healing which is cool.
