Like, Annie's already seen Tony's deep regret that he'll only share with his lifelong friend. The "my parent is human and flawed, so I should engage some emotional intelligence" lesson has been taught at least once. If this is just a matter of "Anthony has a fun and easygoing side that he'll share with a 'colleague' but not his daughter, and he clams up now that she appears," Annie should get it on some level, and this scene will merely be very awkward. (But actually it's just mildly funny and relatable that Kat, who always expressed the most hatred for Tony based on what she knew of Annie's relationship with him, and even got mad at Annie for defending her father's behavior, actually gets along with him really well given the chance.)
