reading hegel before marx is cool, but remember you need to read kant and fichte before hegel, and hume and liebniz before kant... but really it's cool to get a view of the background to and connections between thinkers, but hegel is an absolute ordeal of a writer and also an idealist numpty so i wouldn't read the whole philosophy of right or something before tackling the much more approachable marx, rather than a good summary or piece of secondary literature. i'm gonna go back to hegel when i have more knowledge and more specific questions. The government’s program featured severe spending cuts, high interest rates, and frozen wages. From an orthodox economic point of view there was considerable success: by 1937, both industrial and agricultural production had surpassed the levels of 1929; trade was more favourably balanced; the National Bank had liquidated most of its foreign debt and even accumulated reserves of gold and foreign exchange. In a sense the Christian Corporative regime demonstrated the viability of the Austrian state, but it did so at the cost of alienating a majority of the Austrian people. On the eve of Anschluss a third of the population was still out of work, while those fortunate enough to have jobs were bringing home paychecks considerably smaller than before the Great War” (Bukey 2000: 17). oops

But I suppose that's still ways off. Larry Parrish posted:I went to a small school where I actually did get good classes in that stuff. Also I was a chemistry TA and took a follow on biomed/bioengineering course (our biology teacher was uh, actually a biologist) because I'm a big nerd. But I guess I should do this anyway Dunno what TA is, but to me it sounds like this is actually something you're genuinely interested in. Nerd or not, if you got the smarts and determination to do extra course on biochem, you got what it takes for university. So go for it comrade, I'm sure it'll be useful for the movement as well at some point.
