trump, possibly jokingly: "god made the rain stop at the most attended inauguration speech to the most crushing electoral college win in history" (none of this is true)

macron: "the thoughts of the gods are too complex for ceux qui sont rien to understand. Now, we, the president of France and co-prince of Andorra, must delve into the world of Poseidon if we are to truly rule over him."

it's not unusual for 'jupitérien' to be used to describe a person or thing but because it doesn't have an exact english equivalent anglophone idiots have decided it means 'literally a god'. macron used it to mean 'removed and dignified', i.e. more like De Gaul and less like Holande, who was elected as a 'normal guy' and who wound up the least popular president in modern French history.

he said he wanted his presidency to be jovian in style (jupiterian isn't a word, fools), as in he would preside from above in matters of foreign policy and defense and big speeches and so on, while the day to day domestic issues would be relegated to his prime minister and the government

he also said stuff like "i won't do the traditional bastille day interview with the press, because my complex thought process doesn't lend itself to the exercise"

Part of the mental disease of postmodernist 'thinking' is abstracting everything too far.

He's not the leader of "a country" he's a leader of France.

When you fix that error in your sentence it begins to make sense, as if by magic.

Yep. GPS and mapping tech + communication enables mass migration. People in Subsaharan Africa all have smartphones now. It helps a Syrian refugee escape but also inspires a Nigerian kid to move to Europe in the dream of becoming a famous football star.

I mean in terms of somehow managing to beat the "Smell and Noise" speech and the bullshit Sarkozy said about Africa.

Also this is incredibly unfair to Coty.
