This are extremely bad times for antiherodom imo. Antiherodom is about working outside/around ~the system~ to do good, modern bureaucratic fake-consenting panopticon society is so deliberately all-encompassing that working outside of it is nigh-on impossible, and its rulers end up congratulating themselves for allowing enough flexibility that people can do things however they want and it still plays towards their goals. i grew up on star fox 64 and love it more than anything but i found out later in life that the pinnacle of the genre was actually reached at its birth with Space Harrier, which is very close to being a perfect game

One revelation of the Trump era is America's decline isn't half as subtle or grandiose as a lot of people subconsciously assumed it'd have to be.

i almost feel like trying to get into what, exactly, an anti-hero is. it's a kind of weird thing to pinpoint when your standard hero rarely operates within societal mores is in the first place to a certain extent you could even consider any female hero an anti-hero within the context of any patriarchal society
