It's because our message is so appealing and challenging that it's being suppressed. The biggest hurdle is that group discipline is going to be more important for the Left than the Center. It doesn't matter how much a Centrist fucks up or says something racist, because they represent ruling class interests and will be ignored, but if one of our own says something problematic then it'll be amplified 1000x.

Well, going by the data, the idea of there being a recent steep sexual hierarchy is wrong, because all the datasets have the difference decreasing over time. If we undestand feminism as a political force increasing over that same time period, then there's an anti-correlation going on there. The difference between then and now, considering these people + their sexual frustrations, would have to be marriage rates, which I'll point back to income. But I would be extremely skeptical of anything that blames the internet, or a culture of superficiality or whatever, both because I find these arguments fundamentally regressive, and historically analogously forms have proven to be false. There may also be an age-gap factor here, where old guys complain that the young guys are messed up/shallow/etc, despite themselves being exactly the same at their age (they just have a selective memory, as does everyone about themselves).

The tragedy of tumblr is not that it exists, but that it represents the horizon of anything resembling a left, and that its particular & destructive habits have made a jump into the mainstream. If a real, disciplined left existed, comparisons to tumblr would fail to be convincing, even to laymen, because the character + culture of the movements would be so obviously radically different. But in order for that to happen, the negative habits present in the tumblr crowd must be acknowledged, which means examining it seriously, to understand why these habits take root. 'Leaving them alone' in their bubbles, out of sympathy, isn't good enough, since that doesn't acknowledge the problem, nor does it acknowledge that said habits have been mainstreamed by liberals falsely portraying themselves as left. The point of the criticism of the tumblr crowd, is to use the insight gained to structure a movement that's adaptable and relevant, not to 'mock tumblrinas'.

a good thing to remember is that communities like fanfic tumblr, 4chan, thedonald, et al are really small but appear larger because: 1. basement dwellers who post 100x as much as normies. there's a story about a doctor who writer who got hundreds of emails, letters, and tweets per day when he killed off some character and they were all coming from one deranged person. people conflate posting volume with importance, but a ton of these weirdos have alt accounts and just post all loving day 2. members are international, so you get weird overseas misfits like southern or milo or pjw who fit right in with American politics 3. news sites report on them a lot, because their discourse is online and public, whereas normie discourse happens in person. there was a huge wave of local reporting on a joke Facebook event where 1000 people had clicked "interested" and that poo poo is so easy to report on because you can do all the research from your desk and maybe one or two calls it's tempting to think you can majorly influence discourse by targeting a very vocal group of people online, but it's a mostly contained echo chamber

Nielsen Bookscan doesn't track e-books. I imagine for a self published book where your audience is primarily nerds on the internet, the tracking will be a bit wonky. Is 20,000 even bad for political memoir? I had a look and Hilary Clinton's last book sold about 300k (and other presidential candidates being a couple hundred thousand). I think 20k for a relative nobody is alright. This just seems like him drumming up controversy to try and squeeze the stone for a few more sales.

Also since chud neets have the most time to post, they also have the most time to consume and comment on youtube. They are the largest set of eyes on the platform, and therefore any videogame/"youtube culture" content creator that doesn't explicitly reject them will end up creating content that caters to them as that gets the most eyes and therefore the most money.
