I found a CD with "shareware multimedia collection" from 1995 and it turns out the Jedi temple in AOTC was based on some 90s stock 3D art. Who knew!

I hate Star Wars but I love Disneyland, have they said anything on what the rides would be? I don't want some Star Tours bullshit where you are basically just watching a screen which they can continually update to whatever movie is out, nor do I want some glorified video game bullshit I want a brick-and-mortar roller coaster!!!

Sounds like it may be a bit more than that given how they're hyping up how "innovative" it is. Here's the ride vehicle for the latter one: Cross-Section fucked around with this message at 16:54 on Jul 15, 2017 |

I'm amused by the thought of theatre goer in the 1930s going "40 years they're still going to be making these Mummy movies and I'll be dead."

I get ulcers thinking about my brothers and cousins still out on those streets.

This makes me think it's going to be similar to the Mission: SPACE ride at Epcot but there's no way they'd do something that cool. That one puts you in an actual centrifuge. Basically it's video game poo poo like Star Tours except a much smaller amount of people per "ship" and you each have some control thing the ride asks you to input at different times. The awesome thing though is that it spins at up to 2.5 Gs and all of the video game stuff and that is synchronized so well, like it's impossible not to feel it. Star Tours is goofy but a Star Wars themed Mission: SPACE kind of thing would be amazing.

I'm wondering if they actually made it different and are responding to the complaint about Force awakens being too safe or if it's just marketing speech. I really hope they actually are making this different and unexpected. I like force awakens but it did follow bit of the familiar formula and I know why they did that but they don't need to do it twice.

Ideally the actually story will be absolutely a new thing, with set dressing like "a battle against walkers over a rolling white surface" will just be the "rhyming" necessity set dressing
