I'm really not all that interested in talking about rape, though it is a theme that is dealt with almost all the different mediums used to tell the story of Twin Peaks, in particular Laura Palmer. Just wanted to goof on your idea because it seems to ignore evidence of what we know about the story and its characters while positing something out of left field with nothing to support the claim. The story of Twin Peaks is the story of Laura Palmer, who was repeatedly raped and eventually murdered by her father. Its a show about the terrible intersection of sex and violence. These are things that hang over the entirety of Twin Peaks, so it makes sense that they should come up in the thread. I expect these are themes that are going to be dealt with in the new series. It makes sense, even if I'm not particularly interested in it. I AM interested in how people are reacting and engaging with the material. Its strange to me that someone would consider the idea that he had hypnotized them. It seems to ignore the themes of the show and everything we know about these characters.
