From everything I've heard he's done well at Roma, and Cech may crap out this year. And the price is low. Bad transfer. Sad!

Good question. I believe transfer priorities are set by Michael Edwards now (with input from Klopp and Buvac). I'm not sure if Edwards and/or Peter Moore are the ones handling the actual negotiations, though.

He's done ok at Roma, he's still prone to the hysterical errors he was before. He's definitely improved a lot but he still makes plenty of bad decisions. That said, it's probably something that can be fixed with the right coaching and Juve has some of the best in the world.

I would agree with you but that summer was abysmal. A bad version of Pedro was our number one signing and we also picked up Baba Rahman.

Rudiger is a huge signing with Conte's 3 at the back, and a Bakayoko/Kante midfield should be great (with fab coming in to provide a million assists whenever necessary). If they sign a wingback I think I will be satisfied. I don't really want to waste 60m or whatever on aubeymayang, just let michy run with it and sign a solid #2. However if those Aguero rumors are true (lol) pay that man. For some very odd reason I am just not worried about the striker situation.

That would take an assload of money and I'm not sure FSG are ready to drop upwards of 200m in a window. Be thrilled with either Keita or VVD.

I reckon they are, they've gone pretty hard after both. I'm more interested in Keita than van Dyke tbh. I'm a bit worried about the leaving Southampton effect, and he wouldn't really help with team's habit of sitting deep and counter attacking

Before the summer the talk was that we had £200m to spend before sales. Salah was £30m and Robertson is going to cost £10, so we theoretically have £160m to spend. One of the two would be fine, VVD is probably more important, but it's not like we are desperate to fill someone in either position like we were with Salah.

Lucas going has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works, we're know missing a fourth/fifth choice CB or a third/fourth choice DM. I think we should be looking to bring someone in if we can't get either but I have no idea who that might be.

I think Chelsea need to spend big on a striker as a statement of intent to keep Courtois, Hazard and Conte. I would gladly spend 1 Oscar on Aubameyang.

He's had a decent season at Roma, done well enough to reclaim #1 spot in the national team. I guess they're sure they can coach the remaining errors out of him before Buffon retires next year.

Arnautovic is great. When championship players and big teams 4th choice players are going for £10-20m then paying whatever for a premier league rivals best player isn't really massive. Still pissed off he's going. Only silver lining is that Sobhi may actually get some games in his preferred position, I'd like to see how good he actually is.

I totally get that Wenger has been saying it and Sanchez/Pep don't care but this is usually the point where Wenger mumbles something about the right price and getting a replacement of the right quality, so kudos if he does cockblock the move regardless of the eventual outcome. If he sells Sanchez to a premiership rival now Arsenal Fan TV will implode.

It's a good gamble on Arsene's part, keep Sanchez, get back into CL and get him to resign a contract, or leave for free next year, but the value of him helping them get back into the CL will have been worth it.
