I know you're kidding but... 1) We don't know the surface area of any of the three moons coming in 3.0. And until it's released, any numbers CIG gives, is bullshit 2) I can 100% guarantee that NONE of those moons is bigger than the surface area of ANY of the moons in Universal Combat. A game with roots going back to the nineties. pffft Are you willing to toxx over this? https://vimeo.com/147947830

Goons are still doing their best to completely destroy Star Citizen because CIG didn't make it like Eve, so we can grief Shitizens And CIG has more source leaks than they have game patches.

ManofManyAliases posted:1975 motorcycles can do over 100 meters a second? 1930s plane technology and 1950s motorcycle technology was as fast or faster than Star Citizen ships. That was just world record territory though. But we already have consumer grade technology that goes faster than Star Citizen ships. Part of the reason is the jittery mess of a Crysis Mod they've spent six years tweaking values on bugs out so much that you have to slow all the objects down to keep distorted cronenburg horrors from being flung into a planet at lightspeed for tripping over a step. Slowing everything down slows down the force of collisons and is less likely to cause clipping errors because a ship traveling at a sensible speed for a 900+ year futuristic technology would probably cross the invisible line defining the landing pad and cause your arms and legs to stretch thirty billion miles in all directions for some reason. Slow down the collisons, cut down on the hilarious bugs in the half assed mod you are making. It's why this poo poo has been obviously doomed. I know because I've modded games like that. When you either can't interact with or don't know how to modify the games actual coding you look for workarounds. Modding a 2d space game: Want to tow asteroids and hurl them at people? Well that mechanic doesn't exist, but you can tow modules that mount weapons. So change the graphic to an asteroid, change the weapons to have 0 range and persist on their hardpoint while removing their graphic. Release the tow of the reskinned module at speed and you have a ballistic asteroid whenever the invisible weapons impact a surface. You can even make the asteroid break up on impact by having it's weapons do AoE damage and changing the module explosion animation with an asteroid explosion animation. Anyone who has modded a game and done workarounds like that sees right through Crysis 3: A Star Citizen Mod. They shrunk the scale of everything down to increase the map size. They couldn't remove the water that exists in all Crysis maps so they just made it invisible, and then they couldn't remove the visor splash effect from your crysis suit when you cross the invisible boundary designating the surface, so they just left that in and moved all the objects down into the negative X axis to make everything underwater so you can "float" in zero G. The ships are reskinned Crysis Jeeps and buggies that have NOCLIP enabled, which is why all the ship combat is like two guys in DOOM 2 flying around firing at eachother with NOCLIP cheats enabled but the speed turned down, because again collisions cause your lovely mod to explode any you can't do anything to stop it but cut the speed and force of the collisions.

Hav posted:Idle question, but have you considered some form of open-sourcing or Steam Workshop? No, why? I currently have UCCE 3.0 on Early Access because I am in the process of upgrading the graphics engine and assets due to their age (last time I did that was in 2009). Not planning on doing anything major there as I have neither the time nor the resources to embark on another complex game. Hence Line Of Defense (which is coming along slower than I'd like).

So a person asks you why you are not using the higher number anymore and you respond with a lot of hostility. I for one do not believe in anything CIG puts out there, I was under the impression that 258 was the new number.
