And the effect is fine if a full wash is what you want.

Might be a bit of a long shot, but does anyone have some AdMech stuff they're looking to trade for some Primaris Marines? I realized that 2 sets of Primaris is more than I need/want, so i'm looking to unload the 2nd set. Built, but bare plastic. PM me if you're interested. After seeing the vanilla marine special rules and knowing how much they like to neuter Chaos so that the Imperium always has an easy punching bag my predictions are going to be the following: III - Emperor's Children: roll 3d6 for charges and pick the two highest IV - Iron Warriors: 6+ Feel No Pain renamed to something stupid like Ironically Resilient VIII - Night Lords: -1 to enemy unit's leadership within 12'' of a Night Lords unit XII - World Eaters: +2 to charge range and +1 attack on the first turn of charging XIV - Death Guard: 5+ Feel No Pain with the existing stupid name of Disgustingly Resilient XV - Thousand Sons: re-roll psychic tests XVI - Black Legion: Death to the False Emperor triggers on a 5+ instead of a 6+ XVII - Word Bearers: any HQ choice can summon daemons XX - Alpha Legion: free pre-game move for a limited number of units Even this might be a little generous

Just had my first game of 8th edition at 800 points: it was a blast! Was introducing my wife to the game, so we played with the basic 12 page rules and the match was alarmingly close. We had this T'au List:
12-Man Strike Team with Markerlights and 2 Gun Drones x3 3-Man Stealth Suit Team with Fusion Blaster, 2 Markerlight Drones + an extra Markerlight x1 3-Man Crisis Suit Team with double Plasma Rifles with Advanced Targeting Systems and 6 Gun Drones x1 vs:
10 Noise Marines with 2 Blastmasters, 7 Sonic Blasters, 1 Noise Champion with Doom Siren, Lightning Claw, and Plasma Pistol 2 Hellbrutes with 2 Blastmasters, Power Scourge, and Doom Siren Objective turned out to be "Take and Hold" so we had 4 objectives worth 2VP each, and D3 for Warlord kill. My wife took the Chaos force as it was smaller, so I got to try out the T'au. I kept my Crisis Suits in Reserve, and everything else was pushed forward to try and hold up objectives and get kills early. The system is beautifully simple, although I had to keep on correcting myself that it's the "Charge" phase, not the "Assault" phase. We ended up 5-2 in my favour, but it almost went to my Wife as, by the end of the game I had my Fireblade holding an objective, and it was only poor rolling from the Hellbrute that stopped it from murdering him. The Plasma Rifles with the Advanced Targeting System really did a number on the Marines: with 1 Markerlight you're getting to re-roll 1s, hitting on 4s, and killing on 3s thanks to AP-4. All in all, much fun was had, and I'm looking forward to getting some more games in.
