Knights and Magic isn't deep but it's fine. It's inoffensive and enjoyable for what it is, but it cuts a lot of content and is really rushing through the source material, to the point where they have a narrator to paper over the massive holes they're leaving. I watched Smartphone expecting the worst anime of the season and I wasn't disappointed. Or maybe I was? I was expecting something offensively bad and instead got something so empty and soulless it felt like the author was just going down a checklist of isekai cliches one by one. anyway as a lovely isekai power fantasy the smartphone show isnt much of one, the magic robot show at least has a character with a will to power who wants to bend the world in his image, using all the tools bequeathed upon him by the author
