Jews I grew up with tended to be more overtly religious. As they are even more of minority in the South, religious services really pull community together in a way that’s not needed in NY, Chicago, Boston, LA. Hell, even New Orleans. All ethnic minorities in the South are like this. Bernie didn’t strike folks as the kind of guy who walks to shul (because that’s how it goes outside of the major, major cities where most people do drive). He came across like someone who doesn’t really care about “his people.”

There is something odd (and untrustworthy) about a minority who doesn’t come across like a member of his/her minority. Yes, that is a very limited and inaccurate point of view that doesn’t reflect the breadth of the Jewish community. It is, what it is.

If I’d been Bernie’s manager, I would have dug up “the Good Book”, had him brush up on his Bar Mitzvah Hebrew, and had him pointing at the sky with both hands hollerin’ “TRADITIOOON” like Tevye all over the South (tradiciooon en Tejas).

It got widely reported when the one in like March or whenever said Bernie was the most popular politician, then we dug up that AAs still liked Hillary more than Bernie, then I went to the site and saw that the April one was up and then it said Bernie now had higher favorables among AAs.
