Strava has Bardet clocked in at 106.2 km/hr, putting all of our numbers to shame.

Tour de Suisse in the last few years consistently has people in the 120-130km/h range. Now that is truly insane.

106km to go: “According to the ITV4 commentary, the Burghardt/labrador incident in 2007 led to a change in the wheel strength regulations, requiring them to be much stronger,” writes Matthew Cobb. “Future dog/wheel encounters might not have such an anodyne outcome, as the energy would tend to go into the dog, not into distorting the wheel.”

Commentators saying "not entirely over - Froome could puncture on ITT" tbh I'm not sure that would be enough. Or is Uran strong enough on an average day?

Uran has a decent tt but not on Froome's level. He's got 2nd at this point.

I dunno... it's been pointed out the Cannondale TT bike is miles (possibly literally) behind the others in terms of aero performance and even JV has said they can't afford a proper investment in sports science, aka aero testing. No one on Cannondale seems to be able to put together a decent TT in the last couple of years. I'm not optimistic for Rigo.

I know, right? Everybody else has. Kammtail shaping, integrated steerer, dropped seat stays, aero post and tubing at the UCI limit, shrouding or fairings for the brakes, hidden cables... that's pretty much every TT bike out there except Cannondale. I honestly see a non-zero chance that he rolls up on a re-painted frame from someone else. Cannondale is stepping back from title sponsor anyway.
