A little delayed damage prior and a no-damage phantom-man tonight for an exchange, and my opponents are def far better now than day one. You're right, for sure.

Not complaining tho

This is an old, crappy build they're running experiments with and the game is going to be great. I mean, I did put on my big boy confidence and trust undies today but I think it's more than that, I think my read of things is on point.

I hope we get more parts where other players show in the game. And I think makes sense to expect that. It would be kind of weird if is a thing that only happens in 1 mission.

Suddenly all the dumb ideas of pvp in the raid, or no-raiders showing in a raid makes more sense. At least I hope we get something like the Vault of Glass, where the raid start in a public area, and randoms can help.

I'm worried about Destiny 2.

Just screwing around solo rolling I had a similar experience. Games were rarely close, you either smoked them or got smoked. I had maybe 2 close games over all and it because was everybody trying to lonewolf and not making a cohesive push as a team.

Ability spam was an issue in D1, but the huge nerf to abilities is too much. Hopefully the full game will mediate it with armor effects in the full release.

I understand they are trying to make this an esport/super balanced, but I don't care for it. It feels way too much like Halo 5.

What's weird is the incredible disparity between supers now. Like the Nova Bomb is total trash now with the "light jog" speed of the projectile whereas every other super including striker can now roam and kill multiple targets around the map.

I mean, the supers are pretty powerful, so it makes sense that you don't get many of them a match but it kind of ruins the fun of it. Not sure why striker needed to also have mega-shoulder charge added to the slam, or why nova bomb is suddenly the only 'single charge' super.

i do really like how you fly around the map with the dawnblade when it activates and you can jump like three times higher.

It's because mega sweaty chuds get really mad when they are killed by supers, as in D1 even lovely players can always get a kill or 2 with them. These players have bitched and moaned enough about this that the crucible team somehow got it in their heads that supers aren't fair or something.

The thing is, and as you can see in the beta, people who are good will be good in any meta. People who get owned will get owned by gun, grenades, supers, whatever. Now everyone is still owning and getting owned just like before, but the game feels bland as hell.

Destiny1 mayhem was unbalanced as hell, was a total GG fest, still had SBMM out the rear end, but it was fun as gently caress and really captured their "don't take this seriously guys" ethos they claimed they were shooting for. I can't remember ever really tilting in mayhem, because I knew what it was.

They've moved as far away from that as possible. Because they are idiots. Overwatch and actual tailored esports games will eat their lunch in the competitive realm, and casuals aren't going to want to play 4v4 teamshot simulator.

There has been an amazing 3rd person fantasy console RPG inside Destiny this whole time. Given that the current crowd at Bungie is a bunch of WoW grogs I'm kind of surprised they didn't just drop the whole FPS thing. They seem more annoyed with PvP than anything else. Like just so put out that people expect it and they have to keep dealing with it.

They'll make super timers and grenade timers shorter, and make the blockades/fountains or whatever timers longer. There's no way they keep it so even if you pick up everyone's orbs you can't build another super

Had a game with 20+ kills and still only got one super. I'm in denial that they'll ship it like that.

Shooting together as a team. Normally it's a good idea. The problem here is that it's pretty tough to kill any good player now before he can disengage, so instead of a good and smart tactic it's a mandatory thing.
