i really hope apple will "not refresh the SE" in the same way they werent ever going to make a phone of that size again, and the same way they werent going to upgrade its storage to 32/128 from 16/64 https://www.cultofmac.com/493274/iphone-se-refresh/ (posted already) says "they wont do it" but also oddly "apple just built a new factory in india devoted to manufacturing the SE" so i can hope

if the chips were raised even slightly then jamming them into card slots would potentially separate the chip from the plastic card if the edge caught on something, its almost as if those that design the cards take that into account and manufacturing processes have enough quality controls to make sure that never happens

The screens are definitely softer now and I made up bullshit wrong with my phone to get it swapped for a new one because it had so many microscratches. All my old iPhone screens are perfect and were subjected to all kinds of abuse for years.
