Frankly probably more so than soccer, at the very least there are a lot more courts in the big cities than soccer fields. It's more related to a combination of childhood nutrition, the organization of youth sports, and the mostly crappy state of the domestic league. Which is also the list of big problems with Chinese soccer, plus corruption
