ROBOT
here's a pitch for a show:

imagine quantum leap but instead of that one episode where he was mentally disabled, that's gonna be every episode. Oh and instead of being from the future and having a buddy in another dimension and a robot, he's from an evil alternate dimension and the robot is an electric tree with a scrotum for a head.

Pretty good episode, overall. Although I'm wondering if we will ever get cooper back at this point.

I think what we're being hinted at is that not enough stuff is happening at once. So far there have only been single small things happening, and all we get out of them is a cocked head and a pensive look on Coop's face. In the last episode we had the coffee, the red shoes, and the flag at the same time and he had what seemed like a real moment of recollection. At the end of this one there was the music, the kiss, the pie, the...uh, red. My theory now is that if enough happens at once to jog his memory (for lack of a better word), he'll start to reemerge for real.

At the end when he said "thank you again" it was definitely not in the usual Dougie mumble. Then it was right back to Dougie-dom until just before he said "drat good", and then back again.

I'm intrigued by the fact Gordon started to get sucked into a Lodge-type space, Albert sees whats up and stops it, and then they both go on and just... leave it and go on with their lives? I guess they can't go into the Lodge now but they do seem very unconcerned with the fact that portal is there. Not that they can even do anything about it.

Only other thing I can think of is that Cooper IS back, but is just keeping up the dougie facade for some reason. Maybe he's trying to patch up the issues with the mitchum brothers and other stuff going on in Vegas, then he will try to reach out to either his friends in Twin Peaks or the FBI.

Total crapshoot of a theory, I know.
