China must be depicted as a modern technological equal and innovator on the world stage, china must be depicted as having international clout and respect, China must be shown as always willing to help and cooperate for the greater good and peace. I'm glad that the movies that pander the most to China tend to flop or get panned

So I just learned that the human flesh search engine just means people working together to doxx someone. All this time I thought it was some clever program a Chinese basement troll created to do an imagine search on grainy blackmail sex tapes or anonymous selfies to find out which girl to harass. I mean, why else would there be a billion videos and articles by smiley white people all excited about this crazy need thing those Chinese invented? Chinese are so good at convincing people they've done something new its a wonder they haven't actually used that cleverness to actually be innovative

I'm really waiting for remakes of classic movies to be full of lovely china pandering. Think of something like Saving Private Ryan. After knocking out the bunkers in the opening scene, the men have some rest and chow. They arrive at the field kitchen and everybody gets plenty of rice. Tom Hanks looks at the bowl ponderously. He reaches into his pockets and pulls out a case with a pair of chopsticks. The men stare in disbelief. Music sets in and he looks at it sagely. "China's contribution to the war effort. Without it, we'd be lost. Men, you're looking at 5000 years of culture."

It was super easy in like 2009 because everyone had a RenRen or Kaixin page with all their photos and probably public, and you have an absurd number of co-students at your university. So if you just post someone's photo on a popular BBS and include a convincing story about them being a piece of poo poo, theres almost guaranteed to be at least one person who says "Oh that's my classmate/neighbor/cousin's boyfriend" and then they dump the kaixin photos and telephone number and everything Like I remember a story about a hit-and-run where they found the guy because he had posted a ton of photos of his car w/ license plate on his RenRen page

Speaking of Dunkirk, the Taiwanese title couldn't resist adding "big operation" to the end of "Dunkirk" as if no Chinese speaking audience could ever be enticed into seeing a foreign film without "whiz bang kapowie" grafted on to the for no loving reason.
